Program Notes: “Tran’s Formation” is a solo organ piece written for my good friend, Maggie Tran. The main rhythm of this piece is inspired by the morse code of her last name “Tran”. This rhythm is introduced in the opening and carries throughout the piece while exploring a variety of harmonies.
